“You’re going to deal with me, not someone down the totem pole. You get a lot of handholding. It’s almost like we’re married,” she says with a smile. “We’ll talk to each other regularly so we can collaborate and give you what you want.”

Building a house is very stressful, she acknowledges. She recognizes that while any project of this magnitude will have some inherent challenges, it need not be overwhelming.

“I understand the dynamics and stress of building and moving.”

And her college degree in psychology speaks comforting volumes. That’s the way a home should be built, no matter if it’s a woman or man serving as the captain of the team.
